For those new to timesharing who don't have access to the directories (either online or hard copy) of Resort Condominiums International (RCI) or Interval International (II), this book is a place to start, offering write-ups of the author's personal visits to over 600 resorts in 41 states.

Resort descriptions run from seven lines to over a page. In addition to covering location, the overall comfort of the unit and its features, Dittrich also offers information on resort activities, nearby attractions, and the overall quality of the resort. All entries include a phone number.

Most helpful in the book are the Table of Contents (arranged alphabetically by state) and more importantly the Index (arranged alphabetically by resort name). Hopefully future additions will include Hawaii, a favorite timeshare destination, as well as information regarding the resort's affiliation (either RCI or II) and its rating (Gold Crown, Resort of International Distinction, Hospitality, Five-Star or Standard).
