"When I purchased a gold crown week in the Caribbean in September 1998 from the Holiday Group, I was allowed to purchase a bonus white week for $700. I chose the "Pointe Resort & Club" in Minocqua, WI because even though it was a floating week, it was rated gold crown and I was purchasing it solely for trading purposes.

In early May of 1999, I called up RCI and requested an exchange against my week the "Pointe Resort and Club" for any two bedroom, gold crown property in the Orlando/Kissimmee area for the summer of 2000. I was immediately offered a red week exchange to the Orange Lake Country Club, which I accepted. The rack rate fro this property for the week I was given is $225/night. So for an initial outlay of $1,500, including closing costs for the "Pointe Resort and Club" property, I got a one week exchange into Orange Lake worth $1,575.

For 2000 I have space banked another white week with RCI. I haven't put in a search for an exchange yet, but I just know that when I do, it will exchange for some place really great. That $1,500 timeshare purchase is turning out to be one of the best purchases I ever made from the Holiday Group."
